Hoosier
Anyone see the tropical system toward the end of the month on the fantasy land 6z GFS? Makes landfall in south TX and then moves toward us. Would be pretty late in the season to get a landfalling system that far west so that combined with the long range = low chance of it happening

Will be interested to see how that evolves. Especially with that trough progged to dig out of the Rockies at the same time.

WxDanny
There again on the 12z run, though it gets shunted east. If the GFS performs anything like it did with Joaquin, Bermuda should be getting prepared for another hurricane. /sarcasm

WxDanny
Gorgeous out there now, not a cloud in the sky and mid 60's. 72 hours from now, frost and 35 degree colder temperatures. Back to the 70's next week. I love this battleground of seasons that the Spring and Fall feature.

weatherbo
35 this morning... Rain and groupel moving in later today then switching over to snow in the higher elevations. My area will likely see over an inch but not sure how much will stick, but seems the warm ground argument in place usually turns out meaning very little. Chambana
Dipped down to 42 last night, our coldest of the 2015 fall season. Gonna bundle up, grab some coffee, and go take a fall foliage walk, the best. Looks like frost, to the possible first freeze, then warming back in the lower 70s to begin the week. Models hinting at some meaningful rain in the middle of next week. We'll see. This has to be one of the driest first 15 days on October. Yeah? Hoosier
There's actually pretty good model agreement (for now) on a tropical system making landfall along the Gulf coast sometime around next weekend. The question is where it goes and whether the timing will be right with the incoming trough to bring it into our area. The 12z GFS looks similar to the 00z GGEM.
