Animal
That slug of rain coming up from the South looks insane. It looks like the GFS was clueless as usual. Most people will end up >2" Best Virtually nothing in my area. Can't pump your chest just yet. GFS has nailed the event for the interior so far. Juliancolton
I think it's cool to watch that sharply defined shortwave over VA aid in the development of convection to its north.

ag3
But we constantly get told about how wonderful the RGEM is? It may have been on a hot streak for awhile but it has the same problems as every other model. 12z was a burp run. Based on radar, the 6z and 0z runs look pretty good. GFS has been showing around 0.75-1.5 inches for the region for days. Not sure how you can call it a bust.

IsentropicLift
Looking at the radar and given the time of day and what has already fallen I am starting to become seriously concerned about flash flooding potential. Should be moving right through the most populated areas right at rush hour.

Following the Rgem for many years, it has blips here and there and I notice the best performance by the model is when the weather is hours 12-24. Isotherm
Drought buster in 1 day. I wouldn't say buster (yet). The vast majority of locations have seen 0.5" or less thus far per radar. I'd need at least 4" to make up for the past few months.
