The diffrence with this event was the intensity. About 3" of that fell in 45 minutes when I had visability down to 1/16 of a mile. Snow ++ type stuff. That's what led to the flooding. Like I said my whole street from one side to the other was flooded.

A very impressive event. We lived in a basement apartment when I was very young in Long Beach.

Heavy rains from Agnes in 1972 flooded us out of our place for a week and caused plenty of damage.

This recent heavy rain era during the 2000's has been really rough on people with basements.

I guess I can't say it doesn't rain in wantagh!!!! We do poorly during regular convection and especially spring and early summer. But once the water temps are up an we have some training convection comming off the ocean look out!!

6z GFS showing .5 to 1.5 inches region wide by Monday

I don't think we're gonna get much rain at all from this. You can see one batch going well to our northwest, and another going well to our south. Which is pretty much what 12z RGEM is showing. Always go with RGEM. It's so much better than the other models. We're gonna see very little rain today.
