Predict the Date: First Bonafide Nor'Easter of the Season

Every year around this time I like to get things started for the upcoming fall and winter season with the "Predict the Date" of the first bonafide nor'easter of the season be it rain and or snow. I think this year we may start things off a bit earlier then usual and with El Nino hopefully bringing an active STJ up along the east coast I think it will be an active nor'easter season heading into the fall and winter months. Post your dates here.

The CPC's long-term forecasts seem to favor a zonal pattern with a warm and dry weather for the fall and early weather. I'm not thinking that there much in the way of storms till after Christmas. That's when things will probably ramp up.

I'll say November 2.

And I hope it's understood that if you have to pore over mesoscale surface obs from the CT shoreline to verify a "nor'easter", it doesn't count. That seemed to be a point of contention last year. ;)

yes. every asos in the region must have strong northeasterly sfc winds relative to topography at some point in the storm
