kvegas-wx
Thank God......fall is finally here. Yes, I know, not met fall. But fall by my definition. In the next 4 weeks we will go from hot and miserable to blissful mornings in the 50's. My fescue will begin to grow again. I can rediscover my back deck again. Bring it on..... Average highs across a good portion of the south fall into the comfortable range during the next few weeks. Even if we do go into a heat wave of sorts, we're now moving into that time of year where the humidity will usually be lower.

CAD_Wedge_NC
Happy Shemitah! I basically observed this Jewish law, not being aware that I was doing so. I did not plant a garden this year. I just let the old seeds that were left behind come up. I had some squash and tomatoes that I ate. Everything is basically dead now...... Interesting how things work out sometimes. Snowless in Carrollton
I was shocked to hear about Vivian Brown leaving TWC after almost 30 years. I have a feeling she was forced out unfortunately. 30 years with the network and this is how they treat her ?

Notice it going down to Brunswick GA on the coast, and just one county north of Waycross GA.

FallsLake
It's been stated that RDU has not been far above normal for this past summer, but it has been a long summer. Primarily because of how hot June was. Here's a few facts: June (hottest month) HIGHEST 100 LOWEST 59 AVG. MAXIMUM 90.1 AVG. MINIMUM 68.4 MEAN 79.3 DAYS MAX >= 90 18 July HIGHEST 94 LOWEST 64 AVG. MAXIMUM 89.2 AVG. MINIMUM 70.7 MEAN 80.0 DAYS MAX >= 90 16 August HIGHEST 97 LOWEST 60 AVG. MAXIMUM 88.3 AVG. MINIMUM 67.6 MEAN 77.9 DAYS MAX >= 90

I knew this summer sucked, but not that bad! I bet GSP is at 60+ days of 90 or above, and the awesome drought to go with it!

I think I'll be excited for the cool down as much as I would be for a snow storm.
Solak
You can add yesterday (91) and today (94) to that RDU list.

jburns
If anyone is interested in participating the the NFL pick-em this year here is your chance. We are doing two versions. One free straight up picks in site like the past several years for bragging rights only. The new one is a bit more intense. $20 entrance fee. It will be on Yahoo and you will be picking against the spread. Here is the info for the Yahoo version. The "I" in the info below refers to weatherwiz, who will be administering both pick-ems. For all who have indicated they are interested in the yahoo pick em money league here is the info: When signing up PLEASE USE YOUR AMERICAN WX SCREEN NAME!!! Fee: $20 Group Name: American Weather Password: elnino Group ID: 13754 Info: picks are using the spread as determined by yahoo. tiebreakers will be done using yahoo's tiebreaker which I believe is guessing each teams score for the Sunday and Monday night games the deadline is 5 minutes prior to the start of the first game. so for 1:00 kickoffs it's 12:55 and 4:05 games 4:00 and 4:15 games 4:10, etc the season goes from week 1 through week 17...playoffs will be used as tiebreaker weeks for any ties in the top 3 I did check the box which states I can edit picks...I did this in case something happens or someone may have forgot to make their picks and are away from home or whatever. However, I will not change picks or edit anything once the games are locked. I will setup a Venmo and we can use that for the money and such. The thread about this in the Sports Forum here is at this link. http://www.americanwx.com/bb/index.php/topic/46716-nfl-pick-em-2015-2016/page-4#entry3671241
