Typhoon Tip
Jeez Logan is 93. Maybe I will be wrong and someone gets 96 tomorrow. That's the hottest this year I think so far. Oh ...I think so. Ha, not the you being wrong part; I mean that this set up appears NOT to be coming along with mysterious reasons to fall short of it's potential. The plague and defining tenor of this year's summer.

Oh how I remember those days staring out the window wondering how big the surf was as we sweltered. I see some schools with no AC cancelled, different world now. ORH_wxman
ORH airport has only hit 90F on 9/8 or later 3 times in their record. 9/8/07 (90F), 9/11/13 (90F), and 9/11/83 (91F) If they reach 90 tomorrow or the next day, it would be very impressive. Typhoon Tip
ORH airport has only hit 90F on 9/8 or later 3 times in their record. 9/8/07 (90F), 9/11/13 (90F), and 9/11/83 (91F) If they reach 90 tomorrow or the next day, it would be very impressive. I think it's gonna be close... I mentioned much of this earlier on, but ... tonight's a low DP, high urban center temp kind of night. Perfect public drinking actually.. heh. Anyway Just kinetically charged, well mixed Sonoran origin in play. But tomorrow morning has about as ideal temp explosion look as conceivably imaginable. Could see everyone going from 63 to 70, to like 82 by 9, and 92 by noon. I bet it caps 88 or 89, then we find out they did 90 of 91 on the 2's later on - 93 to 96 elsewhere below 700 feet

Typhoon Tip
Let's just hope precipitable water becomes actual rain - we need it.
ORH_wxman
Dendrite might be interested in this: When looking at ORH data just now, the old coop station hit 100F on 9/2/53...I had forgotten that station was in commission until 1962 even though the airport took over obs in 1947. That's a pretty strong case that the 99F at the airport is not as far out of whack as maybe previously hypothesized. That's good support for at least 97F. We have borderline 850 temps but a September sun angle...and probably most importantly, we do not have NW/NNW flow...the preferred direction for ORH to maximize adiabatic heating. The positives though for 90F are that MAV ran a bit cool today there...so maybe it will again tomorrow...and you mentioned a decent launch point. But I'd really prefer to see a different wind direction for them.

powderfreak
"A Summer September to Remember" BTV with a pretty solid day. Record high min and record high max. SSW to WSW winds of 10-20mph all last night and today at the ASOS, That's a well-mixed furnace flow off the Adirondacks in the daytime, and one that's prone to the nocturnal low level jet that channels up the valley. Hottest Labor Day, hottest of the season, 3rd warmest September high temperature. Also interesting, warmest lake temperature so late in the season. CoastalWx
How about today? Did you see 93? I thought torch spots would be easily 91-92. I don'y know how to treat BDL in the warm season sometimes, because their thermo seems warm at times. HFD also agreed, but it's also a weaker sun which for some reason...is an issue for BDL in the warm season.
