dmillz25
Looks like models are starting to show the trough in the GOA retrograde S of the Aluetians by the first week of October.
BxEngine
Why the hell can't half the members in our subforum figure out where to post this kind of crap? The quoted post above is an example. But yeah...summer is over...time to get this place in shape.

Cfa
So dry I see sand blowing on occasion, some unirrigated spots look like western Texas. So warm that my cactus is flowering for the fourth time this summer. I wouldn't go that far. This isn't Sandy stuff. I am looking forward to surfing real waves for the first time since last winter though. Beach erosion will be moderate at worst. Surfing in the winter? AvantHiatus
Surfing in the winter? Only for the most passionate and worst years. On it not being Sandy-level stuff, 18z gives me doubts locally. Need to remember that the surge wasn't a big deal down here during Sandy.
Brian5671
Also all NAM or SREF posts belong here beyond the 48 hour time frame. Agree, however right now it's kind of boring, so I'm grasping onto any fantasy model that shows anything other than sun and

Need to remember that the surge wasn't a big deal down here during Sandy. Wave heights should be pretty good, there's a long fetch which helps there. Waves like Sandy I'll probably never see again. The waves smashing sounded like bombs going off.
bluewave
Surfing in the winter? You are missing out on some of the best waves of any time of year if you skip blizzard surf.

Looks -epo, -nao ish I feel like the models particularly the gfs are pulling the trigger way too soon. The Euro looked very different with widespread ridging across the CONUS. IsentropicLift
The dry period is finally ending. Globals have numerous rain chances all next week.
IsentropicLift
so it's wrong because it doesn't show a foot of rain for NC? It is wrong because no other models shows anything even similar to that. Extreme outlier.

WeatherFeen2000
I think this will end up being a Monday event. As that high pressure weakens and pushes east the low pressure also follows route but slower dropping a bit of rain Monday. Half an inch area wide is my guess
IsentropicLift
Would be an epic way to usher in October if the Euro verifies. Massive closed low centered over Eastern KY with a direct feed coming from the Bahamas. If only we had a tropical system near there....

IsentropicLift
My God, pounded right through end of the run. 8-9" of rain and still going strong as the run ends. The magic of cut off lows and well placed jet.
