Exactly. That or can't wear any white shirts because they stain too easily from the sweat.

I work outside everyday (4 city 3 beach) and the last few days have been brutal in Manhattan. The diffrence from the beach and Manhattan during even a low end heat wave is incredible. Currently hiding in the AC

Sadly not everyone can enjoy the outdoors due to "certain" restrictions.

Well yeah, I understand. I'm busy with work during the day too. I just try and make time at night since it stays lighter out, even though its declining now, or if the weekends are free.

Yeah me too. I commute from LI to the city and take the train and the hot subway. Still love summer weather. Pack in as much as you can on the weekends. I'm a beach bum at heart.

Yeah, it's the only thing you can do, take advantage of the weekend when you can. Rough commute with that subway, I could never do it. I don't mind driving far, as long as I'm in my car.

Why don't you just move to Iran? I believe Tehran cracked 130F a few times this year already with dew points in the 80's. About as close to hell as you can get without actually setting foot there.

120 not 130.

Today has a shot at being the hottest of the year right on the south shore. Wind is offshore and we are off to the races. Mid 90s would do it

Well your wrong. Very wrong.

The highest temp ever recorded in all of Asia was 128.5 in Kuwait in 2012.

I think you're thinking of the articles on heat index in Iran of 158. A temp of 114 and dew of 90

Yea he's way off.  The highest temp in Tehran this year was on June 30th, a balmy 109.  The humidity isn't bad there.

Closer to the Arabian Sea, yea you get those insane dewpoints.

This town is nuts:

It'll be interesting to see if Central Park has more 90 degree days this summer or if I have more 100 degree days. So far I'm at 20, there's a chance at picking up one or two more this weekend with a strong ridge overhead. 93-95 almost feels cool compared to how much of August was here.

Why do people like uncomfortably hot and humid weather? Do they enjoy reveling in their own sweat that much.

The same can be said for very cold and windy weather, which more people tend to hate versus heat even though you can always add layers when it's cold.

They don't care because they either have a pool or a nice cold air conditioned workplace. Most of these people would change their minds quickly if they didn't have AC everywhere they went.

Most people here who gush over the heat don't actually spend much time in it.
