SnoSki14
For at least the next 2 weeks. After that, it's all downhill. I guarantee that. Well climo will eventually guarantee that but it could still be warm relative to normal.

pazzo83
72 per OKX http://www.weather.gov/media/okx/Climate/CentralPark/DailyHighestMaxT.pdf Right, I think I was remembering Dec for the 75 record. Either way, 80 in any of DJF would be insane. I think we hit 80F once in January growing up in VA.
pazzo83
I hope to be reading an article like this come January: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/07/nyregion/07heat.html
pazzo83
This was the day it hit 80 in January. I remember it well, I was a senior in HS. I got in my car to drive from governor's school to my regular high school (around noon), and it was surreal because it was HOT. But it was January. http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KSHD/2002/1/30/DailyHistory.html
mattinpa
My kind of thread! Models do look cooler than they did (no 20c 850s near) and in the super long range, who knows if it will continue above average. People tend to talk in certainty when it comes to warmth. stormwarn
For at least the next 2 weeks. After that, it's all downhill. I guarantee that. The only thing that's guaranteed this time of year are shortened hours of daylight and a lowering sun angle.
Sundog
It's funny because in 2014 they broke their record for coldest reading (1F). COLD. How can 1F possibly be their coldest temp ever? Is this a typo?
UnionWeatherWx
How can 1F possibly be their coldest temp ever? Is this a typo? Yes, I meant for January 30th. (the date) not their record all-time.
Sundog
Yes, I meant for January 30th. (the date) not their record all-time. Gotcha. Must be one of the warmer records for the season. Most are probably below zero.
pazzo83
Gotcha. Must be one of the warmer records for the season. Most are probably below zero. Yea I think the all time record is around -20. It gets below 0 probably a half-dozen times per year in town, maybe a dozen times out in the country.
