Isotherm
86F here today, after 89 the past two days. Beginning to wonder if I'll hit 90 at all this week, nevermind a heat wave. Nonetheless, with the humidity, it feels like mid July today. Very poor air quality as well.

donsutherland1
The GFS is still showing the dramatic cool down days 7-16. An interesting model battle is shaping up between the GFS and ECMWF. Persistence would favor the latter, but it will be interesting to see what happens next week.

SACRUS
ewr is vulnerable to cooling from easterly winds due to newark bay being a few hundred feet away Tomorrow I suspect EWR is hotter than NYC, but will be interesting.

Brian5671
Dry ground likely adding 1-3 degrees to high temps. Just bone dry here...nothing other than the big August deluge of 8/11 and some showers on 8/
SACRUS
I still don't see the Euro having any negative departures let alone normal departures. It's wall to wall above normal. 12z ECM brings in 850's 16C - 20C Labor day(9/7) - Wed (9/9). 18z GFS also warmer than 12z.

If the NWS forecasted highs for the next 7 days are realized (all above 80) than NYC should be at 103.

LongBeachSurfFreak
Just super dry everywhere. On campus areas that aren't hit well or at all by the sprinklers were dying. I had to hand water a ton of hydrangeas that were a mess an defoliating. Not looking good for the next couple weeks for rain. We need to switch to synoptic rains
