IsentropicLift
Rgem crushes LI and NYC tomorrow with 3"-5" of rain. Same general idea, just some noise with convection placement.

IsentropicLift
Models have been showing the same general 1-3" with locally higher amounts for a few days now. Looks like there will be a coastal wave developing on the front which will enhance an area as it moves Northeast.
Brian5671
The good news is that even if that busts and only 50% verifies, we all get a good soaking. Big leaf drop in progress here. Outside of the 8/11 deluge, we've had close to nothing here since late July.
IsentropicLift
Friday and Saturday are going to be salvaged luckily, the big rains are tomorrow and Sunday.

Outside of the 8/11 deluge, we've had close to nothing here since late July. I wouldn't be expecting more than 1" + with locally higher amounts. These are very tough to predict and most of the rain will probably fall in a very narrow axis. It should be hauling as well. It's a good soaking, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't have as much upside as Sunday does.

IsentropicLift
Models are closing off the 500mb low over Ohio instead of West Virginia, we need the trough to dig further South in order to drive that surface development well South instead of off the NJ coast. This is the Sunday event I assume? What happens if the low is off the NJ coast versus further south? Would think more rain if it's further north no? I think yesterday's Euro showed that. In that case we won't see much then. Hope tomorrow pans out. Wouldn't mind Sunday busting since it's a weekend day. IsentropicLift
The GGEM closes off near Louisville and wow does that make a huge difference for Sunday/Monday.
Santa Claus
Would assume a widespread 1.5" but some of those totals must be overdone. I've heard this story before. Wouldn't rule out local amounts of 5+ but I think the duration and severity of the rain is being overestimated in the metro area as a whole.
