David-LI
According to http://www.spaceweather.com this year's Perseid Meteor shower will be a good show due to a New Moon. Up to 100+ meteors per hour might be visible if sky conditions are good enough. Now let's hope that the weather cooperates and we can have clear skies overnight Wednesday through Thursday. JerseyWx
Cool. I think Wednesday night should be clear. Hopefully we can see a lot of action up there.
nycemt123
Will it be well-seen from Aruba? What time, if so?
NycStormChaser
Unfortunately many places look to be humid and possibly foggy.youll certainly see it with your eyes but those who want to photograph it may have trouble. I've done astrophotography with humidity as high as 75% and that's pushing it. I hope it works out for everyone!
Juliancolton
Will it be well-seen from Aruba? What time, if so? The farther south you are, the lower in the sky Perseus will be. Perseus doesn't rise at Aruba until just before midnight, so you'll want to go out in the hours before dawn. You can still see some meteors even when the radiant is below the horizon (which is favorable for long-lived earthgrazers), but numbers are then greatly dminished. Maybe we get lucky and that front will be through, havent looked that much but a quick glance at gfs and nam have lowering humidity and dewpoints by early am. When the dew point and the temp are within 5-7 degrees with each other it is not ideal but I've definitely seen it clear up at the last minute. Juliancolton
The forecast looks pretty spectacular up here for the ZHR peak early Thursday morning. Really couldn't ask for better, especially considering how many meteor showers/eclipses/occultations/conjunctions get clouded out. Tonight might be suboptimal, but we can deal. Juliancolton
We are lucky to have the new moon as well. Agreed, and if nothing else, the moon phase looks equally as favorable for the Geminds in December. Lots of opportunites.
Juliancolton
Fog has indeed been an issue this morning, but I've still seen something like 20 meteors since the clouds broke just after 3... a couple real interesting ones mixed in.

Juliancolton
we'll be clear by 12:30 Yep, good call. Turned out to be a spectacular night. I have about 1500 photos to sort through, so hopefully a few of them have something good. I probably saw around 75 meteors before calling it quits at 4am. RedSky
Went out at 1am and started great I saw 10 in under 10 minutes including a couple doubles. But then only 5 the next half hour and I called it quits. Meh

I did some stargazing from camp hero some years back and montauk has some amazingly dark skies for the east coast.
