Pictures are from my recent trip to Rocky Mountain National Park and the Never Summer Wilderness Area just to the west. Most picture were taken between 10,000-12,000 ft above sea level.

Great photos. What were the temperatures like during the day there? I visited the Rockies in Alberta, Canada a few weeks back and there was still a lot of snow/glacier action above about 8 or 9,000 feet. At about 7,500', it was only 45-50 degrees during the day at some points, compared to the 60's and 70's down at about 2-4k feet. Even down there, it got down to 37 degrees one night that I was there. In the mornings when I would wake up, I would notice the passing showers during the evening had whitened up the peaks a bit.

Thanks guys -

IthielZ - Colorado definitely had some really nice weather last week. First of all, for being monsoon season there wasn't hardly any rain in the immediate area. One quick shower on Tuesday and about 15 minutes worth of sprinkles on Friday.

Temperatures in the overnight hours were pretty cool all around. There was 3 mornings where there was patchy frost in depressions across the mountain meadow I was camped next too. One night the winds really blew from the valley to mountain ridges. Probably only low to mid 40s that night, but likely mid to upper 30s the rest of the nights.

It warmed up really quick during the morning. By 10am it would be around 60° and usually upper 60s to near 70° during peak heating. If clouds rolled in during the day, it probably dropped to the lower 60s. The sun at that altitude is so much stronger and it feels warmer than our lowlands. Got to be careful about sunburns, and put on sunscreen and a hat!
