radarman
What's that link to the UMASS Amherst radar?Funny you should ask... we moved the radar down to TX last year as was mentioned but yesterday morning we had the crane on site and installed a new phase-spin radar in the same location. Of course we didn't have time to get it up for today Link will eventually be the same. The scanning will be a little different however. There will still be ppi views on the google maps page, but we can do instantaneous RHI cuts. Need to work on how to display those in a usable fashion. FWIW the latest version of AWIPS2 will display our data, though not sure about RHIs. At any rate the cell popped a little NE of Amherst and over N Quabbin. Huge cauliflower cumulus but we didn't have a great view of the low levels with higher ground to our east. This line coming in may give us a decent gust out ahead however. moneypitmike
Eh' best is going to miss well S. of here towards Whately and N Hadley. I just looked at the radar and was about to post the same thing. It still gave me an excuse to cut my run short. Breeze picking up a little though. We'll still get a little rain.
