The 53rd is a reserve weather squadron made up of ART (full-time) reservists and traditional reservists. I think all air crew personnel are ARTs. I've actually applied for flight meteorologist a couple times, but it's a hard position to get. The beauty is, they make you an instant Major if you're selected. Gate to gate velocities with the radar inspector tool and extra quick radar switch with the radars you use to nowcast severe (hold down on the radar menu at the bottom of the screen).
