Snowless in Carrollton
When I look at the Drought Maps, I can't help but notice that the southern US always seems to have more drought areas than the northern US, paritcularly east of the Rockies. Is the south more prone to droughts for some reason ?

Brick Tamland
WRAL Mike Maze Things are looking up concerning rainfall as showers and storms are rapidly growing across parts of the area right now. Showers and storms are expected to expand north and east through the afternoon. I know a lot of us would like to see some rain and we have great chances this afternoon and into the day tomorrow. We get a bonus cool off as well. We'll also be on the lookout for some severe storms this afternoon with damaging winds the threat!
yotaman
Just barely missed one good storm, the second one fell apart. Now a third is heading for us with another behind it. I need to cut the grass but we could always use the rain.
