NinjaWarrior2
Lows, DCA 65, BWI 56, IAD 58, comfortable out. Looks like it could get hot out (Upper 80s to Mid 90s) for a week or so starting Sunday. GFS pumping out 90s everyday next week. GGEM and Euro are not as sure. I would go with Euro here. I really question this new GFS, latest run brings DC proper 90 or above every day from Sunday until the end of the run, 4 days in the 95-97 degree range, and it also even gets Boston into the Mid to Upper 90s. Eskimo Joe
I'm still holding out for SAN. Was out there for a conference in July. Great weather, but man they can't handle rain out there. Only 2" drowned that town.

That's true, rain out there is a like a 1-2 inch snowstorm in the South.
84 Hour NAM
The one good thing about "heat" waves this time of the year is we know their days are numbered and relief is in sight.

EastCoast NPZ
.08" rain here in the last 3 weeks, and my Accuwx LR says another 26 days before the next chance of rain. Unreal.

H2O
Not as cool this morning as the last few days. Need to enjoy it cause the most boring, hot and dry weather will be all this week
Eskimo Joe
The late summer evenings are the best. Warm, but not overly oppressive. Perfect for yard work or fishing.
Bob Chill
The current warm pattern has some legs it seems. Ensembles hold the general ridge east and lowest heights in the pac nw for the next 10 days. Gefs does break it down during the d10-15 range but that's way to far down the line to even think about. We may not get our first substantial sept Canadian air mass until the second half of the month. That would kinda suck but warm early septs are really common here for whatever reason. StudentOfClimatology
Getting a nasty case of autumn fever now. I'm so ready for frosty mornings, falling leaves, and low dewpoints. Unfortunately, the next 10 days look horrific.
EastCoast NPZ
This summer is rivaling 2010 for it's length, and now (at least here) for it's lack of rain. Local vegetation now looks just as it did that summer.

Bob Chill
I went back and looked at the climate reports for dca/iad. You have to go back to 2011 to find a September that wasn't loaded up with upper 80's and low-mid 90's during the first 10-15 days. Looks like Sept this year will be 4 in a row that start off pretty warm.

Thanks for bringing the desert climate back east with you Ray. Did you bring scorpions too? I don't mention in it being dry anymore in the Philly thread, whenever I do people jump on me like it's crazy talk. I raised my pumpkin crop primarily on two 20-30 minute 1" rain showers this year. There hasn't been a bonafide showery wet day here since June.
