Hi, I'm ingyball. I have come from the storm2k forums, where I use the name theprofessor, because I didn't see many discussions for the great lakes area. I have lived in North Texas for all 18 years of my life, but I'm moving to Columbus, Ohio where I will be starting college at The Ohio State and I will be majoring in Atmospheric Science.

Hello & Welcome Ingyball!

A brisk 56° already and its not even midnight yet. UGN going to go low tonight I think. ...probably below guidance.

High of 71° late in the afternoon after the sun came out. Coolest day since July 16th.

Nice graphic from Skilling full of info.

Did not know the lake cooled that much. Nice recovery in Lake levels as well.

Edit: You can really feel the effect of the cool water hugging the coastline today on this side of the lake. 60s within 2 miles of the shore. 74°-75° here 4 miles inland.

Boring day, but beautiful outside.

August has become a dry month around here.  2010 was the last time we reached the monthly avg rainfall(4.48").  Including the current month (little if any rainfall is expected the rest of the month), the last three Augusts combined have totaled only 3.44".

How much have you guys had this month?  Had 2.27" here up to this point.

Looks like fall is here for a while.  48 currently and it's suppose to hit 53 for a high today and 57 tomorrow.  Lots of lake enhanced wrap around today-tomorrow. Trees really beginning to pop here in the higher elevations as well... peak is about 4 weeks away. on average, first snow flakes also about a month away.

46.9 degrees, moderate rain and windy....!

august wut?

I saw this map that showed the most common high temperature by 10 degree group (for example, 30s, 40s, 50s, etc). In the UP, the most frequent group was 30s, for Detroit and extreme SE Michigan it was the 80s. The UP basically had the coldest "most freqent" high temp grouping in the continental U.S.
