Rjay
Any of the south shore folks can tell you how badly we need the rain. This has become a joke.
ag3
Still completely sunny in Westchester. Amazing to think there are severe storms only 25 miles to the south. I think it was just below severe when it pulsed over me in Whitestone, Queens. Looks like it's weakening now. Let's see if it can pulse up 1 more time. bluewave
It would be nice if the GFS and Euro late week frontal stall actually works out. Both models move to a big SE Canada high and SE flow day 5-10. Looks like warm mins may drive the departures once we get past the heat of the next several days. Eduardo
Mehhh. Rained for about 20 mins or so here, maybe 2 mins of which was heavy. No thunder or lightning. Looks like they petered out a bit once they approached the shore, but I guess it's better than nothing for us south shore people. My grass is spikey against my bare feet now since it's so thirsty! donsutherland1
Southern Westchester and the Long Island Sound witnessed the build up of some clouds late this afternoon that kind of tempered the heat.
mattinpa
18z GFS run was straight up AN temps through the end of August. It was a hot run maybe until the last few days, but not all of the runs are that way. Personally I am hoping for cool now - been a long stretch of warm/hot and I especially like it to cool after mid August.

dWave
In the last couple days, the RGEM has been showing a few downpours popping up for today. I was wondering why a slight chance wasn't put in the forecast. Wish they did..I went to Robert Moses, got soaked at the beach. Then it let up to start up again even heavier. Most ppl left but I hung out in the pking lot then came back for a nice late afternoon, but much cooler. Since I get no cell service there I had no clue how isolated it was or not. Did it rain in the city?
