bluewave
Good to see the Euro, GFS, and NAM all giving us a decent soaking along the warm front on Tuesday. We have traditionally done very well with these summer warm frontal convective events. Let's hope the models hold serve and we get some Long Island drought relief. mattinpa
It looks like the worst heat at least on the GFS is still centered in the middle part of the country - that doesn't mean we are cool though. Probably a slightly above normal August unless models change, and in the long range they certainly can.

donsutherland1
Today was anything but one of August's "dog days." There was a refreshing sea breeze off the Long Island Sound accompanied by abundant sunshine. Rye, New York Nearly 6 months earlier:

IsentropicLift
Saw calls for sunshine/clear skies as last as last night on the news.?? Some models had rain/clouds coming in earlier than others. I think that's a good sign for those that want the rain.

It would shock me if the recent dry spell since 7/1 doesnt end with some sort of deluge/heavy rainfall event.

I played golf yesterday up in Bear Mountain. Couldn't have been a more picture perfect day.
Brian5671
Definitely looks like some busted Auguste temp forecasts on the way. Granted we're looking at a big rain event tomorrow, but the whole cold/wet theme is not verifying at all.
Isotherm
Another cool morning low at 59.7F this morning. Beautiful stretch of weather. The minima are keeping my August departure near normal even though the days have been normal to above. Mean maximum temperature to date for August is 85.4F, while the mean minimum temperature is 61.9F. Nice range.
