tmagan
Looking back at the decade of the 1990's, we have been really fortunate since the turn of the millennium with respect to 90 degree days.
mob1
Hit 90 today. Heatwave! As did I, the highest I hit was 93, nothing crazy for July but the dewpoints made it very oppressive on Sunday.

dWave
Well LGA had a heat wave that should just be NYCs representative. At least It'd be in line with every other city using airports and would make for better climate comparisons. LGA is closer to me anyway. 94 96 91 for my backyard. Isotherm
87F high here today, in the clouds all day, so heat wave failed. 94, 93, and 87 for the past three days. The fact that we're even discussing some locations missing/barely attaining a heat wave demonstrates the nature of this summer - namely, one devoid of extreme heat.
