July Pattern and Disco- Shut Up and Dew With Me

Damage In Tolland

Recommended Posts

hello he said Chicopee falls and if you have never been to the south coast of RI like you say you don"t know what its like right on the beach. I lived there for 2 years and never had AC, a couple of days a year were uncomfortable but mostly daily sea breeze city. Get on the other side of the dunes different story

I've been on the south coast many times. It's a Dewpoint disaster in the summer.

What's the difference? If anything srn RI is more humid with those water temps. I've worked on the s coast of cape cod.

I did say the ocean side, which is about as refreshing as it gets, even on the other side of the dunes is a whole new ball game but still temp averages are some 5-8 degrees per day less on the coast versus Chicopee Falls, Ma. i mean where would you rather be on a 93/68 day. Hundreds of thousands know.

I didn't turn my ac on until Sunday night for the first time this season. 4 miles from the ocean less then a mile from the bay on LI. This time of year as water temps get up over 70 it stays sticky over night so by modern standards you need AC. May and june no need at all

Yeah different ball game May and June. But man, some of the worst conditions I have worked outside, were on the Cape. It's not necessarily the temp....but the dewpoints are killers when doing hard labor.

The two times I've been to Newport/Jamestown, RI for whatever that Bermuda sailboat race is, the heat hasn't been an issue.  But man it was the most humid weather I've ever seen sleeping on the water in a small sailboat.  The temps really weren't that hot but the air is just incredibly thick.  You find yourself sweating just to go get a cup of coffee even though its only 75F outside.  But the dew is like 74F with haze.

We love the ocean front more than the bay in the summer, water temps alone vary 2-6 degrees depending on location. Granted muggy days happen just not common and when its 98/62 inland we rocked 85/65. We beach

Unbelievable couple of days here mid July, I mean talk about Chamber stuff 76/54, with the deepest bluest clearest sky imaginable. So great to keep the bugs down. Man if you are camping this week its just a total win. All the folks who spend lots of hours outside are smiling ear to ear today, not a grumpy person to be found.

Chilly morning so far....drove the four wheeler up to the summit and could've used gloves and a hat. My hands were freezing haha.

48F with sustained 30mph gusting to 47mph feels pretty damn brisk.

that looks horrid, don't want. The Cub scouts day campers here at work are having a ball in the finest July day this summer

I noticed in the BOX discussion they referenced 8/2/11 as an analog to whatever severe potential there is Friday. Was that date noteworthy for the region for anything significant?

Nothing significant. 8/2/11 looks like a cold pool event? A decent number of hail reports, mostly 1" but a few larger, centered around coastal Maine. There are a few wind reports but mostly for downed branches.
