Chinook
Interesting radar overhead. As the windmill farm was producing reflectivity returns, it's is difficult to figure out what is storm vs what is windmill when one loops the radar That's interesting. There was one day recently when I stayed at a hotel in Adair Iowa. I thought some thunderstorms might pop up in the very moist air. I looked at my GRLevel3 screen and I saw some areas of higher reflectivity appear out of nowhere. I thought it was a thunderstorm, but it wasn't. The DMX radar started to detect the wind turbines on hilltops in Adair in the evening. Apparently the atmosphere refracted the beam toward those wind turbines starting in the evening, 8:00 or 9:00PM. It's possible that DMX's radar continued detecting them through the night.

A-L-E-K
That was one AGW prediction that got it WAY wrong. not really but ok Our regional model projects that Atlantic hurricane and tropical storms are substantially reduced in number http://www.gfdl.noaa.gov/global-warming-and-hurricanes
Jonger
not really but ok http://www.gfdl.noaa.gov/global-warming-and-hurricanes This one has blown with the wind.... The science on this one has been changing.
wisconsinwx
Dews down into the mid 40s: good because it's more comfortable but indicative of the dry summer. Dry air will be a factor a lot the rest of the summer I would think. Not good.

Jonger
I was one of the few areas of SE Michigan that didn't get a drop... The line wasn't fully formed yet and I got reverse 5-holed.

BuffaloWeather
89, 89, 91 last 3 days at KBUF. Places inland from the lake breeze hit mid 90s all 3 days. Definitely being reflected in the great lake water temps. Was at the beach all day yesterday and the water was very warm.

Chinook
Much of Wisconsin and Michigan has gotten less than 0.50" in the last 14 days. Perhaps some of these areas will see much more than 0.50" of rain in the next 60 hrs.

cyclone77
Finished with 8.37" for the month, with most of that in two events. The last 15 days were fairly dry, with only 0.26". Pretty much a carbon copy of what transpired in June.

Torchageddon
It's summer.... it's boring. JJA is like winter OTAs. SON is pre-season winter. DJF is regular-season Winter... MAM are the playoffs. I think July-August are the most boring weather months of the year. Here February and March are the most boring. Biggest exception of all time was March 2012. The last few Julys and Augusts have been boring but its summer and my ill effects are few. remember when we used to have hurricanes to track during summer? wtf happened EDIT: atlantic tropical thread stuck on page 4, lol I occasionally check-in on the tropics and find nothing interesting which I sort of had a feeling was going to be the case mid-June. This is talking about globally where the Pacific really has been lame. The whole hobby is down, it was just the SW Manitoba tornado that had any inkling of awesomeness for me. Hate those M@#%$*&^*! turbines. False radar returns right over my property all the time. We're trying to fight off the turbines that are coming here from screwing with things/people and I wasn't aware of false radar returns from them at all...another reason to abhor them nearby where people live. Talk about nasty hot in other parts of the world to end July.....Bandar Mahshahr, Iran with 109/90 earlier today producing a HI of 154. That's some serious stuff. Its my username . This July was pretty good, better than this past June and July from last year. It had no active weather so that was the big problem but hot enough. The last day had some neat cloudy conditions and a great sunset. No storms came like the forecast indicated. Grass is burning which surprises me but our soil is bad so it can't retain much water.
