pazzo83
Now we are starting to get those dews from further south. 92/74 in the park now. The PWS by my apt, which I believe is right on the river, is at 90/77, and it def feels like it.

Cfa
Lower 80's and a nice breeze along the Great South Bay. It feels like a jungle back home further inland though.

pazzo83
That's insane. Water temps are in the mid 80s, so it's pretty common from now till around late August. The Outer Banks can be oppressive sometimes, but still some of the best beaches on the East Coast.
uncle W
July 1997 had a heat wave from the 13th-18th...five of six days were above 90...97 on the 15th and 96 on the 17th...after that, it cooled off...it has a way to go to reach that level... SACRUS
The latest guidance seems to spill the heat into the region for 2 - 3 days, similar to this current stint on/around 7/27. Before then looks overall near normal 7/22 - 7.

JerseyWx
98 now at Newark beating the high of 96 last summer. Wow. Hot day for sure. Heat index must have been over 100 most of the day here. I'm not sure how to calculate it, but I think 94° and a 75° dewpoint probably does it.

nzucker
Monday and Tuesday look warm before a sharp cold front comes Tuesday evening...850s get down to around 10C so should see highs in the upper 70s and lows in the upper 50s to low 60s for a couple days in outlying areas. Wednesday through Friday look particularly comfortable before it starts to warm again.

JerseyWx
Only 2 degrees off the record high of 100. 7/19 100 in 2013 100 in 1999 100 in 1977 I remember 2013 was a pretty hot Summer. But was 100° the maximum high for the whole Summer, or was that the record daily high?

The August into September deluge that followed the record heat made it one of our most memorable summers after the amazing strong La Nina winter snow machine.
