I love how everyone is talking about how wet it is. The island can't buy more then .3 at a time, that and apparently highland lakes.

That blob off AC is nuts. I that were over land there would be serious flooding.

Reminds me of last summer's central LI blob, except displaced further south where it's of no use to us, of course :-P

My office building was just hit by lightning, and I'm 2 floors below the top. Streaks of electricity ran down the rivulets of water on my window. It was absolutely awesome.

Where is your building? I'm downtown and hears that and thought a crane fell over or something at the construction site across the street.

Broad and Water.  The thunder was relatively muted but there was this odd whipping sound, and then we all looked out the window and there was a web of glowing current on our office windows.  The bolt must've hit almost exactly where we all sit.

FLASH FLOOD WARNING

 

The National Weather Service in Upton NY has issued a Flash Flood Warning for: New York County in southeastern New York. Kings County in southeastern New York.

  • Until 1:00 pm EDT.
  • At 10:57 am EDT, Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing Heavy Rain across the warned area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen according to Doppler radar within 30 minutes. Flash Flooding is expected to begin shortly.
  • Some locations that will experience flooding include: Flatbush, Crown Heights, Lower East Side, Bensonhurst. Sheepshead Bay, Park Slope, East Village, Soho, Brooklyn Heights and Greenpoint.

 I am at 55 water . I saw the strike  I face the Brooklyn bridge .
