Kmlwx
Decent clearing evident on visible satellite in northern VA back west to the Blue Ridge. 6:00 pm - 1:00 am time frame could be really fun. Nocturnal tornado threats are rare around here though... Just got a look at the HRRR and a few of the LWX local models - looks like they do develop some stuff but it looks sort of weak. #nowcast
mattie g
Since Ian stopped with the puddle shots, a wide view. 2.34" on the day. Done for now. 018.jpg Only right around 1.5" here. Not complaining...at all.

And with good wind field I guess they wouldn't have to be "intense" storms to take on the mini-supercell type of structure. low CAPE high shear can perform if conditions are right. That sun really needs to come out quickly though if we want to boost CAPE a bit. Sun will start to get too low to do a whole lot of good soon. South of I-70 might be okay, but SW of IAD is definitely in a better spot.

snowfan
Yeah, might be able to salvage something in the metro areas once this line gets through the area. Wish it were moving faster though.

I got passed by a guy doing about 55 in a 35 on a small double center line road around a curve, then watched him pass another car on the shoulder before the next curve, only to see him spun out with a flat tire up around the next clearing. Sparky
Pretty lame if this is it. Still stuck in the low 60s. Heard one loud rumble of thunder so officially a thunderstorm day.

nw baltimore wx
Storm S of La Plata is going bonkers. Lol. I called that days ago. La Plata always wins in tornado situations. In other news, if my backyard is any indication, I'm about to get flash flood warned.
hosj III
Crushed in Southern Moco. Some of the heaviest rain I've seen since June 2006. Street flooding everywhere. April 30th 2014 was pretty good too. It turned my street into a river. I've been waiting for that feat to be repeated and we came close today but not quite.
