87storms
The only downside to storms is that I have to remove all the boring vids and pics I took. Usually about 20% are worth keeping on my phone.
09-10 analogy
Getting some closer-in lightning now that the storm seems to be winding down. Just got a stroke nearby. Thunder made the dog antsy.

Eskimo Joe
Looks like a nice bowing segment in southeast Fairfax County near Burke...82.8 mph about 800 feet off the ground.
Sparky
1.09" in the rain gauge with continuing drizzle and rumbles of thunder.
MN Transplant
Peak gust through the trees on my station was 35, which probably means we were in the 40s. More lightning on the back side. Almost an inch of rain. No hail.
mappy
Lots of "bolts from the blue" up here. Watching the sun set with lightning all around, rain all to my south
NinjaWarrior2
Had some small Hail around 5:10pm at Graul's in Timonium, then 50 minutes of a Monsoon. Like 5 ear shattering Lightning Strikes, and gusty winds. Then on the way home, a Tree down on Cromwell Bridge. It is fun being a store greeter/bagger. J.Mike
Nice light show in Annandale off 236 and Braddock Rd. Moderate to heavy rain, not much wind.
kas80
Moved in very fast to Northern Calvert. Wind is incredible already and the thunder just started. It was completely clear 20 min ago.
weatherCCB
.70" here Gust front, then just heavy rain.
PrinceFrederickWx
Moved in very fast to Northern Calvert. Wind is incredible already and the thunder just started. It was completely clear 20 min ago. Clouds are moving in from the north but NWS just kept me right out of the severe warning. Not sure why though. BWI is now at 9.4" and counting, which clinches 2nd wettest June ever. Another 0.56" and they'll be first.
Bob Chill
Just got pitched a complete shut-out, a no-no even. Eh, other than the heavy rain, prolific lightning, 60mph gusts, and hail, you didn't miss much.
hosj III
Fairly meh here. Best gusts were in the outflow, probably 30-40 mph. Lightning was not as good as Saturday. Up to 8.22" on the month.
The Dude
There's some nice lightning on the backside. Looks like one just hit the White House (or at least its grounds).

NorthArlington101
Storm was ok. Best winds were probably 40mph or so, a few loud strikes but not even enough to really upset the dog. Rain was pretty heavy for a little. Meh. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
CAPE
Torrential here. Quite a bit of T&L. Some gusty winds. Nothing severe. Just another nice storm, keeping things green around here so far this summer.
Random Chaos
Impressive storm. Gusts here to 52, but it was the sustained wind of 30 to 40mph for a good 15 minutes before the storm arrived that was incredible. Thought I'd share this photo of the storm. Center is looking north, sides are almost due west and east respectively.
2010 extreme
Excellent storm here power flickered several times lots of wind lightning with a couple of close strikes.

09-10 analogy
It's still going, I'll give it that. Good bit of lightning in the back end, as anticipated -- there seems to be a lot of CG down to the south/southeast now, even though my view is mostly blocked by trees. Looking forward to Thursday. Random Chaos
I ended up with 0.85" in my gauge. Definitely saw what looked to be a downburst racing across the water, small, maybe a few dozen feet in diameter, but intense wind in that section. Had one lightening strike about 200 to 250 feet in front of me as I was looking strait at where it landed. That was loud...and bright! Here's anther picture of the storm. The sky was blue-green under it!
kas80
Clouds are moving in from the north but NWS just kept me right out of the severe warning. Not sure why though. You aren't missing much so far after the first 15 min of wind at the front of the storm it's mostly just rain and thunder now. No hail or anything yet.
