Photographer
Forgive me if this is a tad off topic but I didn't know where to ask this. In your opinion, what is the best weather forecasting app out there accuracy-wise? (Wunderground, accuweather, the weather channel, etc...) I am looking for one that has an accurate forecast and a nice user interface.
Jim Marusak
most of the apps out there are usually not bad in their forecasts. but one thing to keep in mind, most of those apps are more than anything else basing those forecasts either directly off of model data, or a blend of model data, which may not be as good without human intervention/modification. Some of them may contain human-modified forecasts for the more major cities (minneapolis/st paul, Philadelphia, NYC, Kansas City, Los Angeles, etc) because they either more key in on the major cities and/or those companies may have specific clients in those cities which share a similar forecast data base. that being said, most of the most popular apps, imho, are good for actual NWS warnings, for radar displays, current observed temperatures, and most are good with satellite data. and as for the user interface, I would actually say try each of the major ones out, see which one you like, and uninstall the ones you don't. each has its own good points and bad ones, and you just have to try for myself. WeatherFox
Forgive me if this is a tad off topic but I didn't know where to ask this. In your opinion, what is the best weather forecasting app out there accuracy-wise? (Wunderground, accuweather, the weather channel, etc...) I am looking for one that has an accurate forecast and a nice user interface. Of the three weather apps you listed I like using the Wunderground the best. There are many, many weather apps but I don't think you need to spend any money on them - with all the free information available. The Wunderground does it all for me and is free. Ryan350
I'd go with Wunderground.. great user interface, plus a few great extra features like a customizable radar widget. Also forecast is very accurate and probably tied with weather channel as far as accuracy, but design of Wunderground makes the entire experience better. tdp146
I use Wx Alert USA to push all NWS advisories/watches/warnings/statements. You can pick your zip code (or multiple zip codes) and then pick which alerts you want sent. I have them all sent. They aren't all real time, but pretty close. NCHurricane
Anyone use iWeather? I do. Use a combo of 1Weather, the NWS app, Radarscope and texts for warnings from iNWS. Covers everything I need except model data.

Cfa
Anybody use the "Dark Sky" app? Worth the money? I do, and I like it, although it doesn't always send me rain alerts, for whatever reason.
blazess556
WeatherBug is my go to weather app. I particularly like the Spark feature, which shows lightning near your location.
