AT 847 PM CDT...A CONFIRMED TORNADO WAS LOCATED 7 MILES WEST OF  

SERENA...MOVING EAST AT 35 MPH.  

 

HAZARD...DAMAGING TORNADO.  

 

SOURCE...WEATHER SPOTTERS CONFIRMED TORNADO.  

 

IMPACT...FLYING DEBRIS WILL BE DANGEROUS TO THOSE CAUGHT WITHOUT  

SHELTER. MOBILE HOMES WILL BE DAMAGED OR DESTROYED. DAMAGE  

TO ROOFS...WINDOWS AND VEHICLES WILL OCCUR. TREE DAMAGE IS  

LIKELY.  

 

THIS TORNADO WILL BE NEAR...  

OTTAWA AROUND 855 PM CDT.  

SERENA AROUND 900 PM CDT.  

MARSEILLES AROUND 905 PM CDT.

Followed monster HP from near Clinton Iowa past Sterling.  Got into the RFD once and almost got blown off the road.  A little too hairy for my liking.   Thing was cranking out tons of high energy positive bolts out the anvil well ahead of the core.  Very cool.

That supercell N of Ottawa is REALLY wrapping up, very strong rotation as well, and appears to have a possible TDS.

 

 

Gonna have to watch that it doesn't take a left turn at some point or else Joliet area would be at bigger risk eventually.

And ILX radar is down as svr storms move into the central IL region.  Ugh!

The radar is up, but data is not getting out of the office.

So. Is Chicago proper done for the night??

 

 

There's been quite a bit of backbuilding over Michigan and Lake Michigan but not into Chicago up to this point.  Can't completely rule out a storm but main action looks east and south/west at this point.
