Very neat shelf cloud with lots of rain and thunder, lightning but few ground strokes, no wind to speak of and the only hail -- such as it was -- was with the rogue cell that came through half-hour or so before this main line. But nothing even close to severe at least up here.

 

Just when I say that, a tremendous CG close by. Not that that's technically severe but lots of ground strokes and concussive thunder, to me, makes a storm special. As is often the case, the best lightning is at the storm's tail end.

Yeah, that's a pretty impressive signature crossing the Potomac south of Dumfries. Heading for ... where else? ... LaPlata.

 

EDIT: Yeah, it might go just to the north

The pottomac really enhances these storms that go into SoMD. One of the areas mini-tornado-alleyts.
