RIC_WX
.9" here in about 15 minutes. The lightning did not disappoint, but most of the rain ran off. I would guess close to .5" fell in the most intense 5 minutes, which were impressive.
dailylurker
Looks like another (weaker) line is back toward CHO and is producing SVR warnings as well. We might not be done after this first line. Then we have the core of big bad Bill later tonight. Should be a fun night.

Kmlwx
The atmosphere might turn over a good bit from this stuff. Not sure anything after this will produce a ton - maybe to the south.
Bob Chill
Pretty prolific lightening in front of the line. Best lightshow before rain in a while.
Amped
Thank you both. Having two little kids who are a bit nervous I am not able to talk in great detail. Just going to our safe room was followed by anxiety. Looks like it's gone now. Sounds like there's hail mixing in now, quite a downpour for the last 40 minute. Eskimo Joe
EOC weather station reporting 385 lightning strikes / min in the county. Not sure how accurate that is thought.Looks like IAD gusted to 37 mph.
MN Transplant
Good lightning, but otherwise only some breezes and decent rains. Lightning is the main attraction here. Did get rates up above 5"/hr, so that is solid. Winds didn't perform.
mappy
Decent thunder and storm is still a ways ofd
Kmlwx
Area near Cabin John has a little notch in the velocity scans. Nothing there now but that could be where something spins up if it does.
SouthernNJ
Would not be surprised if a weak tornado touched down in Manassas based on the Dulles velocity data at 7:30 PM, although the polygon made was too big in warning many folks unnecessarily once again. The Frederick county storm had its best velocity signature when it was about 8 miles east of Point of Rocks, but unsure if did the trick.

Stormpc
This 2nd pulse from the Fredericksburg storm has really laid out the rain and thunder here again. Very impressive rates. 1.17 from this event and counting. 2nd line to the SW may push out some flash flooding since it is riding very close behind the initial band. Best of the summer here for sure.
