hammerz_nailz
I just spoke with my wife working at one the the big insurance companies. They all think they will be in the clear driving home because the severe watch ends at 4:00 pm.
andyhb
Plume of steeper lapse rates is actually retreating from SNE though as the mid level warming takes place. This would be so much more volatile had that morning MCS not fouled up everything. Such is life in 2015.

CoastalWx
Hopefully my two year thunderstorm drought comes to an 1812 Overture end this evening We had a severe warned cell in May. Did you miss it? Otherwise just some weak sauce last year.

Still some good shear though with ML CAPES approaching 1500,2000J.

It's going to be one of those days, no robust updrafts that are slam dunk warnings. Just stuff in the low levels that requires extra care and attention. IsentropicLift
Models that showed activity over SNE and then more south towards Philly/DC are going to end up being more correct with the NYC area in a relative hole.
