Superstorm93
Ouch. Pretty bad bust. Tropical remnants are always pretty fickle to forecast
Morris
Ouch. Pretty bad bust. Tropical remnants are always pretty fickle to forecast Bust is comparable to a bad snow storm bust. And this was with a model consensus.
IsentropicLift
Ouch, that was pretty bad, pretty much every model busted terribly. I had a good drink here but nothing close to what was forecasted.

bluewave
Bust is comparable to a bad snow storm bust. And this was with a model consensus. it's a good thing for the weather forecasting community that winter snow events aren't typically off by as much as warm season convection can often be. Can you imagine if snowstorms were as fickle as convection is. Just picture if the Islip 13"+ deluge was all snow without it being forecast ahead of time and just surprising everyone. Cfa
0.93" here. Don't know if I'd call that a bust, it's a lot of rain, at least compared to what we've gotten in the last few months.
MJO812
What a bust. Received near .30" here.
IsentropicLift
Clearly not everyone here did as poorly as NYC. I was close to an inch and it rained heavily around 5:30AM.

mob1
.35 or so for NYC, looks like sub .25 for some in NJ, just brutal. No inch amounts until you get well N and W of here.

SnoSki14
What a joke we often get surprise tstorms that pop up and drop more rain than this hyped mess.

IsentropicLift
My guess is that once all that convection hit the more stable airmass North of Philly it weakened. You still had the strong forcing associated with the surface low but that ended up tracking too far South for most of us. The good news is we still have many more events on the horizon including Tuesday.

ag3
Tell tale sign was the Rgem cutting back on 3 straight runs, including last nights 0z run, which only had about .25" for NYC.

jm1220
Wow, that prediction blew up in my face. Where I thought they heavy rain was going to be was pretty much the shaft zone. It looked really impressive coming out of PA, but I guess as others said, the instability wasn't very strong for you guys, and the precip broke up. There were some T-storm lines well to the south, but it all seemed to fall apart as it neared the coast.
