cyclone77
Probably dark as night out there right now lol Oh man, I bet. Gigantic HP beasts. Starting to unzip to the southwest towards the MO border as well. These storms should have one hell of a light show by evening as the thing grows into a gigantic complex. hawkeye_wx
I think the long-lingering early convection put a lid on the potential for my local area. The southern cell diving into the high cape of southeast Iowa has been very robust, but around Cedar Rapids up toward Dubuque it's just a smattering of weak to garden-variety cells. Can't win 'em all.

Indystorm
Strongest storms in se IA moving into IL around Burlington presently are warned for 70 mph winds, which seems to be the maximum I've seen with this episode. Am wondering about cells out in front around LaSalle county, one of which was svr warned as they move se. At the very least it looks like more flooding rains for the battered Iroquois River basin. Nice amount of cells just west of Chicago, not a MCS but a solid amount of storms and coverage. Great amount of lightning per lightning tracker. hawkeye_wx
Wound up on the southern edge of the morning convection and northern edge in the evening, picked up a half inch of rain. It looks like cyclone will whiff completely as the MCS dives to his south.
cyclone77
Looks like we'll escape with <0.10" for the day. Big time QC split. We definitely don't need the rain, so it's probably a good thing.

Those are usually pretty cool with these departing MCSs.
Hoosier
Storms look pretty good to the west but a still a long way to go before they'd get here. On the fringe of the slight risk area. 75/70 now.
Hoosier
That stuff in W IL actually looks like it will dive before it gets here. Might have to hope for the line nw of Kankakee to build.
