This just isn't going to come together in time to realize the really heavy amounts locally.  Not like we needed it anyway.

Thankfully true for this episode, but 18z GFS loop of precip for the future is ominious for IN and IL through the Independence holiday at least as ring of fire positive PNA pattern sets up.

I go out with my last event in the LAF being a bust. Seems about right. :D

Back up north tomorrow to fight off this new round of heavy rainfall/basement flooding. And then prepare for more next week. Good times.  :axe:

Yeah, you guys definitely don't need it up there. I'm hoping for drier times!

Should push over the inch mark here. Going to be real close to DDs for the month...

Still moderate rain here with winds gusting to 40 MPH. Trees being uprooted due to saturated ground and gusty winds. The local river (Little) has quickly gone into flood. Good times.

My CoCoRaHS reports for June as of 7 AM this morning. The amazing thing is that there are many areas of the county that has received up to 3" more than me here in town.

Since LAF low balls rainfall, I think we should do an over/under for your rain gauge. I'm setting it at 3.00" storm total. And I'll take the over.

For those interested, this is blue's CoCoRaHS station. http://www.cocorahs.org

Looks like the overs lost. Total was 1.45". That makes me 0.15" shy of DDs. Looks like a couple chances of rain Monday, so could do it before the month's up.

FWA's gusting to 57 kts, apparently. Is that legit?

FWA recorded a 65MPH wind gust about an hour ago. I have no doubt that is accurate. I'm sure we got a few over 50 here an hour or so ago.

That's wild.  Here's the ob...northeast winds sustained at 50 mph

Saturated ground + 50MPH winds + wind out of the opposite direction from normal = trees uprooted and powerlines down countywide.

Additionally, heavy rains across the Upper Wabash Valley have flood control reservoirs at almost capacity. River flooding is already occurring and with sewage treatment plants overwhelmed, expect upstream towns' turds to be floating through LAF.

Now up to 3.44" IMBY in the past two days.

Been busy all morning coordinating with NWS and the Army Corp of Engineers with what to expect. It may not be pretty.

Yikes.  And that's a good point about winds of that strength coming from an atypical direction...the trees are not able to resist it as effectively.

Rainy and 10 consecutive hours of gusts over 30 mph at FWA.  Brutal
