calm_days
Is there a name as there is regarding interaction between two tropical cyclones (Fujiwhara effect) for the interactions between troughs/fronts and cyclones before phasing? I really noticed this with Arthur last year and this maybe moreso, that the presence of a system moving to the east seems to help the system organize, similar to water rushing out on shore as a wave moves in, but of course with different dimensions of fluid dynamics. Amped
A rather sharp turn poleward appear to have started. The current weak trough to it's west it's imparting westerly shear and entraining dry air on it's western semicircle. This same trough is weakening the ridge that's steering Bill and will allow to start the baroclinic process the models have been forecasting in a day or two after it moves to a more favorable position to the NE of the cyclone. Everyone wants to see the Erin redox. Don't know if it will play out that way but certainly a lot of rain for N TX and OK.

The recent uptick in deep convection around the center has been impressive, to say the least.

IsentropicLift
Storm still looks very impressive on radar Sent from my iPhone The center looks to be hauling it pretty quickly North. Reminds me a lot of Irene once it reached the Mid-Atlantic coast.
IsentropicLift
Looks like the water logged Austin managed to escape mostly unscathed. Radar estimates of only 0.50"+ and the center is now just NW of Waco.

This imagery is excellent to have, thank you!! for typical systems, this type of satellite history is usually not distributed by third party or major weather groups or agencies, it just isn't their tendency. So, it depends on boards like this to produce and distribute the images.
gymengineer
Still a pretty decent TD right now--- DFW reporting mist and SE 26 G37 near the center.

Amped
Looks like the 20" totals stayed offshore. Some areas near Victoria are pushing 10" .
