Today was a classic Southern Ontario hype event right down to EC on the phone with CP24 Toronto early afternoon saying everyone will be impacted today.

Indeed.

Instability/moisture this far NE didn't get nearly as high as models progged (NAM had dewpoints around 70*F), which prevented the cap from being broken.

It looks like the Lake Michigan lake breeze was just enough to get things going in NE IL. Meanwhile, with the front now becoming parallel to the flow, the enhanced convergence may be just enough to get things going along the MI/IN/OH border.

Going to have to watch for cells like this tomorrow with that sounding from RFD in mind.

Regarding the ongoing situation around Peoria, deep layer shear is pretty low but obviously plenty of instability and there's decent directional shear in the area.

Good amount of inflow into it, RFD looks disrupted for time being.

First severe warnings in NW Ohio. In my opinion, looks like hail up to 0.75". Wind may be an issue, but I don't think there will be a lot of wind damage reports (yet)

Rotation on the cell northwest of Wauseon, amateur radio reporting a funnel cloud west of town.
