* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR...  
CARROLL COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL MARYLAND...  
NORTHWESTERN BALTIMORE COUNTY IN NORTHERN MARYLAND...  
EAST CENTRAL FREDERICK COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL MARYLAND...  
NORTHERN HOWARD COUNTY IN CENTRAL MARYLAND...  
 
* UNTIL 745 PM EDT  
 
* AT 653 PM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE  
THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING QUARTER SIZE HAIL AND DAMAGING  
WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THESE STORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE  
EXTENDING FROM NEAR MANCHESTER TO GREEN VALLEY...AND MOVING EAST AT  
40 MPH.  
 
* LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...  
WESTMINSTER...MOUNT AIRY...HAMPSTEAD...MANCHESTER...SYKESVILLE...  
OAKLAND...ELDERSBURG...OWINGS MILLS...RANDALLSTOWN...

GREENMOUNT AND WINFIELD.

A TORNADO WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE AREA. ALTHOUGH A TORNADO IS  
NOT IMMEDIATELY LIKELY...IF ONE IS SPOTTED...ACT QUICKLY AND MOVE TO  
A PLACE OF SAFETY IN A STURDY STRUCTURE...SUCH AS A BASEMENT OR SMALL  
INTERIOR ROOM.  
 
THESE STORMS HAVE A HISTORY OF PRODUCING WIND DAMAGE. THIS IS A VERY  
DANGEROUS SITUATION.
SEEK SHELTER NOW INSIDE A STURDY STRUCTURE AND  
STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.

SUMMARY...A NEW SEVERE TSTM WATCH WILL BE COORDINATED AND ISSUED
SHORTLY FOR NRN VA INTO CENTRAL/NRN MD INCLUDING THE BALTIMORE AND
WASHINGTON D.C. METRO AREAS FOR A THREAT OF DAMAGING WINDS SPREADING
FROM WEST TO EAST ACROSS THIS REGION.

DISCUSSION...BANDS OF STORMS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE FROM WEST TO EAST
ACROSS NRN VA AND CENTRAL/NRN MD THIS EVENING INTO AN ENVIRONMENT
THAT REMAINS MODERATELY UNSTABLE. ALTHOUGH DEEP-LAYER SHEAR TENDS
TO DECREASE WITH SRN EXTENT...SUFFICIENT SHEAR WILL FAVOR A
CONTINUED THREAT FOR STRONG/DAMAGING WINDS AS HAVE ALREADY BEEN
OBSERVED AT KFDK WITH A WIND GUST OF 51 KT AT 2235Z.

If it's not careful it might miss us. The polygons must not be able to bend more SW to NE.

* EFFECTIVE THIS MONDAY NIGHT FROM 720 PM UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT.  
 
* PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...  
SCATTERED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH POSSIBLE  
ISOLATED LARGE HAIL EVENTS TO 1.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE  
 
SUMMARY...SEVERE-THUNDERSTORM THREAT WILL EXTEND BEYOND ORIGINAL

The main line formed along a narrow axis of instability and was aided by the terrain...now that it's east into more meager CAPE and an atmosphere that was overturned by previous convection it should collapse pretty quickly.

Pouring here with thunder/lightning... So, um oops?
