2015 Hurricane Season Official Thread

Day late so I do apologize.. but Hurricane season is finally upon us!

Water temperatures off the mid-atlantic remain frigid, but south of Hatteras is over 80 degrees and warming by the day.

Let's see what we have in store for us this year!

Well if that Yucatan thing develops we could get remnants I guess based on the model tracks. Flooding and #wedges.

Too bad the ridge axis isn't further to the east off the coast. Hypothetical remnants streaming up into ms valley area and approaching from west of the apps wouldn't be as tasty as running up the piedmont. Hopefully it makes our weather interesting later this week either way.

So it just so happens that I'm in Houston Texas this week. Looks like I'll be seeing some tropical action when Big Bad Bill decides to pay a visit mid week. I'll see if I can get down to Galveston to maximize this thing, but it'll probably be the rains that are issue here.

I'm setting the bar for me to personally measure tropical storm 1 minute sustained winds at surface level. If I can record that, I'll consider it a victory.
