May was pretty great here as far as temperatures go, so may that trend continue in June.

After multiple runs with temps above average, today's run backed off and has temps either side of average depending where you are. This run also went dry for a good chunk of the area but I don't really pay much attention to the precip output, especially this time of year as convective influences are more in play.

The first 10-15 days of June look to be pretty quiet for this sub.  Euro showing northwest flow keeping the instability axis well to the south and west for the most part.  EPS shows more of a zonal flow beyond that time frame.  Things may change but I'm not too optimistic about anything widespread for severe at this point.

I'm curious to see if the positive feedback from the very wet soils over the southern Plains will have any impact on the usual death ridge that develops and sits over the southern Plains during the summer.  That death ridge feeds our typical ring of fire setups that are some of my favorite severe events for this sub.

I was wondering the same thing...is the ring of fire going to be harder to come by.

Eh the best setups are when the unseasonably strong low pressures roll through, that's where the real tornado threats are. Speaking of that this week is the 5th anniversary of the EF4 tornado that hit just south and east of the Toledo metro area. Killed 7 people and leveled an entire high school

^^^ Was just thinking this. Outside of the occassional flip to more of trough out west, the ridging has been pretty consistent. I like the more pleasant days but the rain and 55 crap sucks (which we had on Friday and Saturday). Looking forward to a change in this pattern...

Supposed to hit the low 60s tomorrow here. NE to E winds will blow tomorrow again.

56°/41° for today's temperatures. - more like April weather.

Lake Michigan average water temperature took a noticeable dip.

Middle of the lake is still at 38°.

Achieved my first significant sunburn of the season today.  Ended up making it into the low 70s.  Just a perfect day.

Looks like mid to upper 70s the rest of the week with some increasing precip chances beyond Thu.  Meager severe potential Sunday if the Euro/GFS are to be believed.  Looks very marginal though at best.

Corn is up over a foot tall now.  Soybeans are sprouting up several inches as well.  Here's a pic of a field last night at sundown.

Good lord, so much whining for one day of 60 degrees in June, lol.  June almost always has a few colder days in this part of the world.  On another note, DTX released their summer outlook - http://www.weather.gov/dtx/SummerOutlook2015

I can't say I really disagree with any of it.  The models are looking a little troughy for the next several days though.
