IsentropicLift
most of the day would be rain free if that verifies. It has lots of scattered activity before that. The short term high res models have been busting badly. Nothing really had a great handle on what occured overnight in PA and NJ and 12z NAM basically shows a rain hole right where the rains are currently falling. Rainfall rates of 1"+ per hour currently approaching Plainfield.

Yes, all of the modeling has heavy rain develop after 18z and cross the area, persisting until the early morning hours. Someone could easily pick up an inch or two in this scattered convection before then.
IsentropicLift
You can pretty much see where the cutoff is going to be on radar. Really not much of anything once NW of a line from about Vernon to Allentown to Harrisburg. 06z RGEM FWIW

Parents in Holmdel said not much 0.33" Going to be very disappointing if we get < 1" for the event. Lawn's just about dead. Little concerned today we're too far north after being too far south yesterday. Cool/foggy in the 50s now.

IsentropicLift
The GFS much like the Euro has consistently made this a widespread event today and tomorrow and that trend looks to continue with today's 12z GFS showing an additional 1-3" for pretty much everyone. Locally higher totals of course possible in heavy convection.
IsentropicLift
It's pretty typical to see convection dry up this time of day as we cross the diurnal min. I've been lucky enough to be in the cross hairs of a lot of what has fallen so far this morning. Things really start to get going once we get through the next 3-4 hours. Thunder now in Ramsey.
