CT Valley Snowman
I think good timing and enough forcing / lift ahead of the front will compensate enough for the mid level drying and limited moisture and a broken line of strong (to marginally severe in a couple of towns) storms will push through the region in the 5-7 time frame. powderfreak
Well that'll work for air conditioning... from 82F to 65F currently. Though we are sure to rebound back up into the 70s this afternoon, the early low 80s heat has been broken. Rainfall was around a third of an inch on this side of the mountain, and around a half inch to two thirds of an inch on the west side. Band started weakening after it crossed the Spine. The radar estimates show how the line dropped its larger payload on the west side as it tried to push up and over the mountains.

andrewmac
The phuck are you talking about? You got crushed the other day I was staying at a friends cottage on Cape Neddick, and we watched them train from the front porch, just north of Short Sands beach. It was an easy 2 hours of strobe effect lightning. We even tried to play the "drink every time it flashes" but we finished off the bottles before the storm was done. (read we were toast) The real hail and wind stayed just North of my house in Rochester as well. We are really close to Ayers Lake. I was afraid to come home to broken skylights in the bedroom after seeing the 2.5" stones reported but no visible damage anywhere.

Damage In Tolland
Meh - dew points have really mixed out. BDL is 88/61. Well just like this coming Friday's event..we don't always need high dews. Won't be any severe..but considering the state has had it's lowest storm # in many years..even a general storm would be welcome..Yard is torched

weatherwiz
Instability is decreasing with dews mixing out and poor lapse rates aloft. Better instability across eastern sections where there is some deeper moisture present. Cape profiles are pretty tall and skinny and with PWATS around 1.5 to 1.6 the main threat is pretty much heavy rain. Maybe some gusty outflow winds. the better looking storm is headed towards Fairfield county and has some lightning with it

weatherwiz
there is some weak moisture convergence over western CT perhaps leading to the spike up in intensity a bit
