Run of the mill storm. Decent lightning. S few strikes within a mile. No wind.

Edit:  In the midst of a series of close-by strike, ftw.  A pretty decent soaking going on this morning, RN+,

.64"

Wow--7 minutes after the above edit, and I'm now at 1.00", RN+ continues.

Edit a couple minutes later.  We pour---7"/hr on the Davis. 1.40 in the bucket.

Yeah, the heaviest stuff has been slow to move out of his area.

Another close strike.  Rate's come down to a more reasonable 2"/hr--at least for the time being.  Yard's a pond.  Will likely need to let water out of the pool once this ends.

1.66"

Cancel lighter rate--back up to 5"/hr

Missed the first batch this morning. Had some nice lightning though. Working on a T so far.

I'm going 50/50 on whether I get into the area that has back-built.  I might miss it by a 100 yards.  :)  If I get in it, would not be surprised to see 3".

2.35"

Well this kind of sucks. It's pouring and my station is reporting a rate of 0"/hour. A bad time for it to fritz out--or maybe it's being recorded on the monitor and just not transmitted to wunderground for some reason. I'll need to do some investigating.

2.42" was recorded.

Sometimes I have more faith in the old school rain gauges. Annoying to empty but they don't crap out

Buy one of the Stratus Rain Gauges as a backup (the CoCoRAHS recommended ones).   They are like $30 or so I think when I bought mine.  You'll have it for years and years.

Bring a toothpick outside and do a bird poop check. Usually that isn't a problem during rain, but if you had a lull maybe it was dry enough for a clogging.
