Another fantastic August evening. Laying in the hammock with a beer, watching the firepit. Snowstorms are great, but I think some of you miss out on summer

It was great being home again a couple of weeks ago, low 80s straight through, beautiful sunsets and awesome beach weather. Down here in TX it's so hot that it's hard to even be outside before 7-8pm or after 11am. My apartment complex is having a pool party today at 3, high's supposed to be in the upper 90s again... ouch. This is my first summer in a ridiculously hot Southern climate-it sucks. It being this hot for seemingly forever also sucks. The flip side I guess is later in the year when we have the weather you're having and you guys are freezing. The sun is also always strong enough here to get a tan.

FL is much more tolerable than parts of TX. Its can get as humid as South FL but with more extreme temps. I have wondered how tough it would be if I lived there. At least for most of FL it doesn't get much above 90. In Miami its something like 89 degrees, dew pt 78 everyday. Maybe up to 92 some days.  but I see conditions in TX with temps closer to 100 with similar humidity.

Calgary Eh? Lol, I like Montana. They get plenty of Winter weather in the Summer if you want it so bad. They just had a good frost last night and back in July the higher elevations got snow. Plus, you can choose between the Great Plains of the East, or the Rockies of the West.

Of course this is biased, because it's one of my favorite states, but take it for what it's worth.

As a Canadian, I still miss the brutal Montreal winter and short summer.

Day #18 yesterday of 100+. Hit 101 at Camp Mabry. Heat index was over 105 at times.

And I'm at day 14 of 90F+. Couldn't imagine 3 weeks of 100+ temperatures. Much like southerners complain about cold weather confining you to the house, I would think 100F+ heat would do the same, particularly between the hours of 9am-4pm. Not enjoyable outdoor weather. Your "outside" season - in terms of comfortable temps - is probably spring, fall, and even parts of winter.

100 now at 2pm, so this will be day 19. Yeah, it's unbearable to be outside after 11am or before dusk. The heat is drier here than it would be in FL, but when it gets to this level it really doesn't matter. It's just brutal.

Its really not hard to have a discussion where the data backs up your point. Ignore the bs, discuss the data, and the bickering should stop. Its a science based forum, time to start treating it like one.

This banter thread should be for the bickering and for those who think 20 is a lot more than 19. ;) lol

Let me know how it goes. I got pulled into some planning for that at work but thankfully got back out of it just as fast so you can't blame me!

Golson just fumbled.
