Got 3 or 4 today depending on that first one. Probably only went 20 miles during the chase. Leaving to the north couldn't help but being bummed it didn't happen a bit north.. Much better terrain. Some folks got better views it seems.

Agreed on all counts Ian. Panhandle Magic didn't pick the best spot for its big return... quite the opposite. The curse of the Canadian River Valley... amazing how much stuff tends to wind up there. Halfway to Perryton and we would've been golden.

All that said... no complaints lol. Well besides missing the first few minutes by driving around frantically for a "good" vantage before conceding that.

We were talking about the area on the way and concluded it's better to see a tornado in a bad area than not see a tornado. ;)

When it got tor warned the second time we were in a good spot but it started pouring and since we're still kind of n00bs out here we were not sure we should just chill on the hook so we started driving to a new spot.. then saw the tornado as we went down into the valley.  Was initially kind of upset but we actually ended up with a fairly good view considering... so could be worse.

Here's one when it was around its largest size.. not the best of the bunch but size matters. :P

3 tor days in the last 4.. no complaints. Trip went from kinda frustrating to big pretty quick.  Oddly I was pretty happy with the pattern - and moisture -- before coming out but other folks pessimism got to me a bit.

Maybe June will bring a cutoff or something of some sort.. after we leave.. based on nino climo ... panhandle might not be done just yet.

Another ENH risk today for large/very large hail, for the Texas big country. Also a fairly large 5% TOR prob from west-central TX northward toward NW KS. Looks like a similar day to yesterday. Just a tad further south. Nearly the exact same dynamics as far as wind and thermodynamic profiles go, with some small differences. Good turning with height, with marginal speed shear, and strong/extreme instability across a wide area. Looks like VBV was a problem in at least KS (didn't look further south really.)
