rolltide_130
Shamrock is going to have a bad time if this thing doesn't weaken.
downeastnc
Gonna be a close call for Shamrock, town runs more N/S than E/W so that's good if the couplet can stay just west of town.....need this to cross Hwy 83 north of I40
downeastnc
Bryan Valdez feed has a nice wall cloud just south of Shamrock TX.....no apparent tornado though

Chinook
This area of rotation must be west of Shamrock now, hopefully no tornado in town. I don't have any confirmation that this is a tornado.

DoctorMu
Bryan Valdez feed has a nice wall cloud just south of Shamrock TX.....no apparent tornado though A great view of the wall cloud. an attempt at a funnel cloud. Nothing beyond that yet.
huronicane
Quincy was reporting some pretty good damage and Jeff Piotrowski reported a rain wrapped tornado on Twitter west of Shamrock crossing I-
Ground Scouring
Given favorable thermodynamics and strong low-level directional shear, why did the Shamrock cell and some of its neighbors undergo a merger? I'd expect them to return to discrete mode as better forcing arrives over the next few hours.
DoctorMu
briefly saw a tornado on basehunters cam as they turned north from I-40 onto Highway 83 in Shamrock run into major hail, some circulation

thewxmann
Given favorable thermodynamics and strong low-level directional shear, why did the Shamrock cell and some of its neighbors undergo a merger? I would say VBV are putting a cap on some of the storms right now. Plus, all else equal, storms close to each other tend to merge together. Quincy
Just observed low-end damage between Samnorwood and Shamrock, TX. A few powerlines down, a few tree tops sawed off, a mangled billboard on I-40. Rain-wrapped mess. Bailing east back into OK.
Chinook
By the way, rotation on that storm tracked from north of Silverton/south of Brice to Twitty, roughly 60 nautical miles.

Amped
The MD from 20 minutes ago DISCUSSION...A BROKEN LINE OF INTENSE TSTMS WITH A FEW EMBEDDED SUPERCELLS CONTINUES TO MOVE NEWD ACROSS THE ERN TX PANHANDLE AND THE ROLLING PLAINS OF NWRN TX...WITH REPORTS RECEIVED RECENTLY OF LARGE HAIL AND A COUPLE TORNADOES. ADDITIONAL TSTMS ARE DEVELOPING FARTHER W WITHIN TORNADO WATCH 175...BUT WITH VEERED LOW-LEVEL WINDS AND A DRIER BOUNDARY-LAYER...LARGE HAIL AND DMGG WINDS WILL BE THE PRIMARY THREATS. THE ENVIRONMENT ACROSS WRN/CNTRL OK IS ONLY MARGINALLY TO MODERATELY UNSTABLE /PER 18Z OUN AND LMN SOUNDINGS/...AND STILL CAPPED WITH A WARM LAYER NOTED NEAR 1.5 KM AGL. EXTENSIVE CLOUD COVER HAS ALSO LIMITED DIABATIC HEATING ACROSS CNTRL OK...WITH TEMPERATURES REMAINING IN THE LOW-MID 70S. DESPITE THESE POTENTIAL LIMITING FACTORS...LOW-LEVEL SHEAR WILL CONTINUE TO INCREASE INTO THE EVENING...AND WILL FAVOR THE RISK FOR TORNADOES /SOME POTENTIALLY STRONG/ ACCOMPANYING DISCRETE SUPERCELLS ACROSS WRN/CNTRL OK AND POSSIBLY INTO PORTIONS OF N TX. AS A RESULT...A NEW TORNADO WATCH WILL BE ISSUED SOON.
