MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 0669
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0555 PM CDT SAT MAY 16 2015

AREAS AFFECTED...ERN PORTIONS OF THE TX/OK PANHANDLES INTO WRN
OK/WRN N TX

CONCERNING...TORNADO WATCH 175...177...

VALID 162255Z - 170030Z

THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR TORNADO WATCH 175...177...CONTINUES.

SUMMARY...SEVERE/TORNADO RISK CONTINUES ACROSS PORTIONS OF WW 175
AND 177...AND APPEARS TO BE INCREASING ATTM.

DISCUSSION...STORMS CONTINUE TO INCREASE ACROSS PORTIONS OF WW 175
AND 177 ATTM...PARTICULARLY IN THE SWRN OK/WRN N TX VICINITY WHERE A
FEW ISOLATED/SUPERCELL STORMS HAVE INTENSIFIED SIGNIFICANTLY OVER
THE PAST HALF HOUR. THE STRONGEST STORM ATTM IS MOVING ENEWD ACROSS
THE RED RIVER VALLEY ALONG THE JACKSON CO OK/WILBARGER CO TX
LINE...AND APPEARS TO CONTAIN A LARGE/SIGNIFICANT TORNADO. ON ITS
CURRENT TRACK...THIS TORNADO WOULD MOVE NEAR OR JUST N OF THE TOWN
OF TIPTON OK...AND THEN TOWARD THE INDIAHOMA/CACHE/MEDICINE
PARK/MEERS VICINITIES.
OTHER INTENSIFYING STORMS ARE LOCATED JUST
SW OF THIS CELL OVER THE HARDEMAN/FOARD/NRN KNOX CO TX
VICINITY...AND ALSO IN A BAND EXTENDING NWD INTO CUSTER CO OK.

AS LOW-LEVEL FLOW STRENGTHENS FURTHER THIS EVENING...EXPECT THE
TORNADO RISK TO INCREASE IN THE SHORT TERM...INCLUDING POTENTIAL FOR
LONG-TRACK/SIGNIFICANT TORNADOES...
ALONG WITH RISK FOR VERY LARGE
HAIL/DAMAGING WINDS.
