bluewave
The average annual number of 95 degree days at Newark over the last 30 years is 8 days. Most people begin to consider it a hot summer when the number of 95 degree days exceeds this average. JJA temperature departures don't always tell the story since warm minimums can contribute to the departure. Maximums can also average above normal without much major heat. Newark 30 year 95 degree data with 100 degree days included 95+/100+ 2015...8/0 2014...2/0 2013...10/2 2012...17/3 2011...16/4 2010...21/4 2009...1/0 2008...7/0 2007...3/0 2006...7/3 2005...14/3 2004....1/0 2003....2/0 2002...15/2 2001...8/3 2000...1/0 1999...15/5 1998...1/0 1997...7/2 1996...2/0 1995...10/1 1994...12/2 1993...24/9 1992...3/0 1991...12/2 1990....2/0 1989....7/0 1988...20/5 1987...13/0 1986...4/1 1985...2/
SACRUS
Great stayts as always blue wave . I'm going to copy into the 90 degree days thread too.Interesting in the hot 1991 summer the lack of 95+ days compared to the other scorchers 2010, 1993, 1988, 2002 etc... I'll have to dig up 1980, 1977 and 1966.

Yeah, May contributed an unusually large of 90's to the 1991 warm season with 6 days. The interesting thing about 1977 was that there wasn't much heat outside the mid-July heatwave. All the major heat for the whole summer occurred at that time. 1973 had more than twice the number of 95 or higher days. 1983...12/0 1980....8/2 1977....5/2 1973...11/1 1966...10/
