powderfreak
5" in ALB is crazy for this time of year. The other spots are generally hill towns, but 5" in the pit of the Hudson Valley must've been nuts.

TheSnowman
Nothing like my 12" in Northern RI in May 1977!

Hill Towns or not it's a noteworthy event for May 10.

Yeah definitely...makes sense if ALB was 5" and spots like Cooperstown in high terrain to the west and high terrain to the east had 10". Probably similar precip but more efficient accums in the hills.
powderfreak
That 5" at ALB on May 10th is probably more impressive than 2.2" on May 18th, 2002. Twice the snowfall but a week earlier. Hard to quantify which is more rare haha.
