NORTHWESTERN HUTCHINSON AND NORTHWESTERN HANSON COUNTIES...  
 
AT 1149 AM CDT...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING TORNADOES  
WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM NEAR LOOMIS TO NEAR  
MITCHELL...MOVING NORTH AT 35 MPH.  
 
HAZARD...TORNADO AND HALF DOLLAR SIZE HAIL.  
 
SOURCE...RADAR INDICATED ROTATION. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER  
RADAR HAS SHOWN THE CIRCLUATION JUSSOUTH OF MITCHELL HAS  
STREGNTHENED. I THERE ARE ADDITIONAL STORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING  
TORNADOES...ONE A FEW MILES WEST OF MITCHELL...AND A THIRS TO THE  
SOUTH A FEW MILES NORTH OF ETHAN.

1500-2000 J/kg SBCAPE and 50 knots of bulk shear via mesoanalysis near the IA/NE border. Thinking the greatest tornado potential will develop near the state line and advance into far northwestern Iowa. Convective junk and displacement from warm front/triple point to the south should result in less of a threat for the Omaha area into southern IA. Still non-zero though.

Its going to pass very near Gunter and then head for Sherman TX which is a rather larger town.....the couplet looked much better that last scan as well....

 

Yeah mentioned this cell a couple of scans ago, it has good looking structure and rotation is ramping up.  Would hate to see Gunter, Howe, or Dorchester take a hit.
